Doppelmayr Transport Technology calculates the RopeCon® belt conveyor with SimulationX
Doppelmayr Transport Technology GmbH offers sophisticated transport solutions from the planning stage to the installation. Doppelmayr, the technology leader and pioneer in cable car technology, has installed over 14,900 passenger and material transport systems in 95 countries. Customers from all over the world transport their bulk materials and goods with the latest Doppelmayr technology including limestone in Sudan, pallets in Germany or gold ore in Mexico.
"ESI's SimulationX has become the tool of choice for me and my team in the analysis of dynamic processes during the planning stage of demanding RopeCon® projects," says Thomas Berchtold, head of project planning at Doppelmayr Transport Technology GmbH and responsible for the RopeCon® – a material handling solution from Doppelmayr.
The RopeCon® transports the material on a flat belt with corrugated side walls. As with conventional belt conveyors, the belt serves as a tension element. At the head and tail stations, it is driven or deflected by drum pulleys. The belt is carried by axles which are bolted to the belt in regular intervals. Wheels are fitted to either end of the axles running on fixed track ropes to guide the belt. These track ropes are lifted off the ground by support structures.
